Fighting Food Insecurity
In partnership with our community, the Waushara County Food Pantry Inc. exists to alleviate food insecurity by providing reliable access to nutritious food in a welcoming environment. Federal poverty guidelines determine program eligibility. The pantry serves all of Waushara County distributing food sourced through Feeding America, Hunger Taskforce, Central Waters Farmshed, food drives and donations.
Today’s pantry grew from humble beginnings dating back to the 1980’s Commodity Food Program. Faith-based and community organizations operated a small pantry for nearly 40 years. In 2000, the pantry became a service of the Central Wisconsin Community Action Council, an organization working to lift individuals out of poverty in neighboring counties. In 2013, Waushara Industries, a local non-profit assumed pantry oversight and service delivery. In May 2021, the Waushara County Food Pantry, Inc. became a federally recognized 501c(3) non-profit.
The pantry operates with one paid staff member, a crew of committed volunteers and an active Board of Directors. Volunteers register and greet guests, sort foods, pack boxes, and load boxes of food into guest vehicles. In addition, volunteers receive and pick up food products and maintain food logistics to ensure food safety standards. The pantry’s Executive Director manages all aspects of food pantry operations with oversight provided by the Board of Directors.
Meet the Director
Tyler Weston
Executive Director
Tyler Weston initially joined the Waushara County Food Pantry team in November 2024 as the Assistant Director working under then director Nate Knight and was promoted to Executive Director when Knight retired in April 2025.
Weston is a U.S. Navy Veteran and has a background working in print media and advertising. His vision for the pantry’s future is to create a sustainable fundraising framework and strengthen community relations in order to sustain the pantry into the future and galvanize its ability to continue providing healthy food to people experiencing food insecurity in Waushara County.

Meet the Assistant Director
Tiffany Malin
Assistant Director
Tiffany joined the Waushara County Food Pantry team as Assistant
Director in October 2025. She brings her expertise in Physical
Therapy, Nutrition and Customer Service to the team and spent the past
five years of her career working in the special needs community, a
true passion for her. Tiffany is a wife, mother to three awesome kids,
and when she's not working spends most of her time outside. She loves
animals, has a little hobby farm with miniature horses, and enjoys
exploring nature and spending time with her family.
Meet the Board of Directors
Mary Kunasch
Board President
Mary retired from the Waushara Argus as Publisher in September 2023
after 56 years, in August of 2024 she took a position as
Administrative Secretary of the Waushara - Wautoma Senior Center.
Presently in addition to serving on the Food Pantry Board, she is
secretary of the McComb Bruchs PAC Foundation Board, a member of the
Hope Lutheran Council as well as greeter coordinator, Augustfest
Chairman, Wautoma Easter Egg Hunt Chair, she covers County Board and
City Council for the Argus, and enjoys announcing parades in Wautoma
and Wild Rose.

Rich Dittle
Board Vice President
After a career in education, Rich has spent the last thirteen years
volunteering with various food pantries and has been a Waushara County
Food Pantry board member for the past three years.
"I believe it is essential and worthwhile to provide community members
with nutritious food."
Jan Novak
Board Treasurer
Jan dedicated more than 40 years working with and advocating for Waushara County families. She has seen the difference financial stability and access to resources - such as food - can make in the lives of those living with hardship. In retirement, Jan brings her experience with community engagement, program design, non-profit management, and grant writing to her role as Treasurer.
Cheryl Berglund
Board Secretary
Cheryl is in her 15th year of volunteering with the Waushara County Food Pantry. She joined the board in September of 2024. She enjoys meeting and working with all of our volunteers and all of the clients she has met over the years.
Joe Herman
Board Member
Joe is our newest Board Member, officially joining the leadership team in January 2026. Joe has been a reliable and dedicated volunteer with the food pantry for the past two years and is also actively involved as a member of Waushara Gardeners, Wild Rose Kiwanis, and volunteers time with the Saxeville Food Pantry.
